I've found that the ribbed design of the Festool vacuum hose easily catches on the edge of my MFT. This can be a pain when sanding and even more of an issue when sawing or routing. I've seen posts where some people addressed this issue by covering the hose. I took another approach. I built this simple swiveling hose clip. It attaches to the extrusion on the side of my home-made MFT. It consists of:
1) a small section of aluminum angle iron
2) a knob and bolt to attach the unit to the 8020 extrusion on my home-made MFT
3) a spring clip from the hardware store
4) a small piece of 1/8" thick aluminum sheet
The spring clip is mounted to threaded holes on a piece of 1/8" aluminum. The 1/8" aluminum is then connected to the angle iron using a single bolt and a lock-nut so it can freely swivel.
The spring clip may turn out to be a little to lightweight but it seems to work reasonably well. Time will tell.
Hope this helps
