I have a mid century chest .. you get if from being ~50 years old [big grin]

Jokes aside - nice work!!

Very nice work.  I have never done inset drawers, yours are beautiful.  Thanks for sharing  Bill

Great work.  Just curious -- the choice to make the top drawer divider (the one under the top row of drawers) run all the way to the front edge of the carcass, as opposed to the interior edge of the bevel.  Is that an aesthetic or structural/functional decision?

Aesthetic only. I saw another chest with that and decided to replicate it.

Nice work.  I like the angled carcass front and a lot of the details.  inset drawers are not easy, but you did a nice job on those.  Is the grain continuous across the drawers?  In one photo it looks like it could be but in another one, perhaps not.

Also liked the base detail.  I may borrow that design element on a future piece.

I'm not a fan of exposed metal slides on something this nice, personally.  Did you consider using metal or wooden slides under the bottoms?

Great choice on the hardware.  And the finish looks great.  I'm sure your son will enjoy the piece and have it for many years.

Thank you for sharing the level of detail you put into it.

The grain was continuous.  I used the metal slides for several reasons but primarily because I had them already and it expedited completion.
