Is it ok to use the Festool Midi without a filter bag and just relying on the main filter.

I haven’t looked at what tinyshop linked, but my answer is NO.
ANY vacuum from Hoover to Dyson to Festool is worthless without a bag in my opinion. The bag IS the filter! Without the bag the vacuum’s permanent filter will clog with dust and debris very very quickly and loose most of its suction. Then cleaning/emptying the vacuum is a nasty nasty job in of itself, and one that quite frankly requires another vacuum to do properly.
Bag-less vacuums suck balls, the bag is the most important bit, omitting it is madness.

Using the Ct without a bag can be done. But, unless you are talking about sucking up liquids you are frankly being ...
The bags serve as collection devices and "pre-filters." Going commando will result in clogged hepa filters and probably a shortened life.
