Hey Guys, just saw these are available now from Festoolproducts.com, the Longlife bags for Mini & Midi, they said added in April.

Does anyone have one of these for the Midi yet, I'm on my last disposable and have always wanted a longlife bag but they weren't available for the smaller vacs until last month.

Any pros/cons to them? They say for chips/debris, are they good for fine debris also from sanding?
Thanks....

Got mine in the Amazon UK site a while back.  [big grin] Nice too see they are now available in the USA.

[member=38938]grainhaus[/member], ideally the long life bags are for chips and debris. They will work with fine dust but can become clogged a bit. Giving it a shake or thoroughly cleaning periodically can help with this. They are machine washable.

I would order some spare clips as well. Mine only lasted a few empties before splitting. Great bag tho  [big grin]

FWIW, I've never, in over 10 years, heard of a clasp breaking. I'm not saying it hasn't happened to you, I just haven't read about it or heard about it from customers.

That's odd Shane. Of the 2 ppl I know that have owned the bag both have had Broken clips.

Still love the bag tho  [big grin]

I have one for my Midi - painful spending that money on a bag but worth it. I use it for everything - including sanding dust. The only reason as far as I know they say it's not recommended for fine dust, is because the bag has to be emptied - rather than just sealed and disposed of for the paper bags.

I do this procedure outside with a dust mask.

What are the logistics of emptying with potential (or known) lead-remediation work?  Seems like the long-life bag would not be the way to go for those jobs (??).

The bag would be contaminated after a single use, which I believe would mean that it has to be disposed of and cannot be reused based on my understanding of RRP guidelines.

I would not recommend the long life bag for this type of work.
