MIDI vac with t-loc

Hi
I recently purchased a midi Vac and I'm curious what's the point of having the t-loc. The old style clips make it so that the sustainers go on opposite of the t loc swivel on the vac. Am I missing something?

On a side note has anyone successfully put the 36mm hose into the hose garage on the midi with the cord? Or is there a way to get another hose garage to make it a little bit bigger to be able to fit the 36mm hose?

Thanks
David

You don't use the clips, just the T-Loc.

I don't believe the 3.5m 36mm hose fits in the garage unfortunately.

[EDIT]

And of course, when it is connected, because it doesn't have a 90 degree connection, you can't stock Systainers on top anyway.

[member=9555]Chris Wong[/member] is spot on; the 36mm hose can be used with a Systainer on top - I've just tried it and it squashes down just enough to allow it.

What clips on the back side of the systainers then?

That's done so the vac can take both T-loc and classic systainers.

And no, the 36 mm hose will not fit inside the Mini's hose garage.

To use and store a D36 mm hose in a Mini/Midi you might want to use one of these: TKR-SYS (491631).
Don't know if they are sold any more in these T-Loc days.
On top of that a Classic lid or possibly a T-Loc systainer can be used as on the picture above.

That looks awesome!
I did find some websites with them still available but they seem to be in Europe somewhere but it appears that I wouldn't be able to get them to Canada.

I was also thinking I could cut the bottom out of a systainer and do that but I didn't really want to destroy a systainer without know for sure if it's going to work.

Odd creature, the fabled systainer extender. Never seen one in real life. I once heard of a sighting high up in the Rocky Mountains, researchers and hunters went up looking for it, but they all came back empty handed.  [scratch chin]  [cool]

Nothing clips to the back, there are small cleats on the bottom. Brilliant system. No way your getting a standard 36 in the midi garage but the planex hose on the other hand, I think it fit. Only have had the new midi a month now. I'll try and remember to try and take a pic tomorrow at work

Here is a couple of pictures that might help you decide.
A 27mm hose compared to a 36mm hose bundled up, both hoses 3.5m long.
2nd picture a Midi with a 3.5m, 36mm hose coiled up tight, this sits about 160mm higher than the garage top of the midi, mainly because you have lost the right angle connector that comes with the 27mm hose.
So if it was me and I wanted to keep a 36mm hose all compact and tidy I would be looking a butchering at least a sys2 or even a sys3 with cut outs for the hose, personally I don't keep the 36mm hose with the midi permently so I wouldn't bother.
On a side note if you buy a workshop or tradesman cleaning set that comes with a 36mm hose, they come in a sys5, the tools and tubes that come with the kit don't really take a lot of space up in the sys5, it's the hose that takes up most of the space.

Ya that's the thing I did buy the workshop cleaning kit mainly so I could get the floor nozzle and the metal handle, I did want the bigger hose because I believe the suction is better, however one of the reasons I liked the midi was everything was tucked tight and it's a small package, I actually toyed with the idea of getting the right angle connector and seeing if between fittings I could get the 36mm hose to come out of the vac at 90*
I just wondered if there was a way of getting the bigger hose to fit. It seams as tho I should just look to sell the bigger hose
Part of the other problem is with the cold weather and wife parking in the garage I don't have much room to tinker and see what options I have

Here's the midi with the planex hose. It's not perfect but it fits. I bought the workshop cleaning kit and hate the standard 36mm AS hose. Way to stiff and kinks easily, I rarely ever use it, the planex hose is so much better, it's like a wet noodle.

They should have ventured further west.  We have stock of the Tanos Classic Systainer Extenders in the Anthracite colour.

By the way, I'm pretty sure you can run a standard 36 mm hose with a Mini/Midi and have Systainers on top.  But you can't store the 36 mm hose in the top without extra space.

Ya I want to be able to store the hose in with the vac.
Any chance you'd want to sell one of the extenders?? I'd gladly buy it would solve my issues lol

[member=9555]Chris Wong[/member] is spot on; the 36mm hose can be used with a Systainer on top - I've just tried it and it squashes down just enough to allow it. I've updated my earlier post to clarify this.

To clarify I figured I could use it with a systainer on top
I want to be able to store the 36mm hose in the hose garage when not in use

Hi
Storing a 3.5m hose @ 36mm diameter in the hose garage is not possible.

Here's a picture of a Systainer Extender on top of a CT Mini (Midi would look the same), with a 3.5m x D36mm hose inside.[attachimg=1]

That's awesome I was just gonna see if there was any pictures..
Can you use a tloc lid or does it have to be an older one?

BTW I sent an email to you last night. Thanks for your (and everyone else's help)

Do you have the 36mm hose coming directly out our have you gotten the 90* connected and coupling on the 36mm hose
