So I have a rather large project that I simply can throw this piece away and start over
i have two 8mm holes that are not suppose to be there... anyone have suggestion on "fixing/hiding" the holes
i search the internet for a solution, but for some reason i must be the only one that makes mistakes with this tool?

any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks

Make a face grain Domino out of the base wood, glue, insert, finish.

Cut the domino, to where it will fill most of the hole leaving enough to be filled, then fill it with a color matched crayon, or a white filler then use some pigments to color match and paint  the filler with earth pigments  to match. Then stain and or clear coat...

Never done this, but next time I make that mistake I would try getting some closely matching face grain from a scrap of similar wood, gluing it to the end of a Domino and then trimming to the shape of the Domino, maybe just a hair bigger.  Cut the other end of the Domino to appropriate length, do a test fit.  If it doesn't look close, try again until satisfied, then glue up, sand lightly and apply finish with the rest of the project.
