Actually, that's not such a bad idea. Two extendable rails, (or maybe even two heavy duty drawer slides) could be added so the saw can slide to the left. The left side miter support box could support those slides on a temporary basis for those few times when something wider needs to be cut. I think that would be a brilliant addition.

I have been thinking about a slide out for table saw if I have the height with current configuration. I have plans for the Kapex to pull out a bit as the 20" available is not enough for it when in the 90degree position. We will see

You going to make room in there (future expansion) for the CMS table/router setup?  Computer station to keep up on the FOG?  Massage table (oh wait, that's the real purpose of the 8-9 ft of extension)?

Can the rail on the table saw be reversed so it would be extending on the left side instead ? Just curious if that was possible, if so then you could have unlimited width.

I'm enjoying following your progress and I like the way you explain your design.  In particular, I like the fact that your design allows for future modifications (such as accommodating a different table saw).

Love those 8 foot deep drawers!

This series makes me want to go out and purchase a van and outfit it (even though I have no need for such a thing)
