I am picking this up this weekend.  Looking for suggestions on a base.  I know Rikon offers a couple and Bora has several.  Another option is to make one.  Hoping that anyone that has some experience here could help point me.  The plan isn't for this to move around a lot but I don't mind the $$ to ensure that when I need to move it, it moves easily.  I have made a number of rolling cabinets to house tools but this is first time where base is very low to the ground and a top heavy tool is on it.  Just trying to think this through.

I have my porter cable 14" sitting on bora PM-2500.  Works great and sits low enough to the ground.  Stable when in stationary position.  Rikon offers mobility kit but it seems overpriced at $150 which is about the same as i paid for the bora

Thanks for that.  I saw the 2500 for $90 and the 3500 for $180, both on Amazon.  My saw is close to 300 lbs.  I tend to do overkill on these things so I might jump on the 3500.

I’m currently moving shop and putting all the fixed tools on wheels.
For the 14” bandsaw I went with the base that you use a piece of plywood attached to the four
Casters.
My thoughts were it had a smaller footprint,
The band saw not that heavy and the kit is about half the price of the full mobile cart with the steel beams.

Rick.

I actually use the Rikon base and am happy with it. The handle unit is pretty straightforward and the saw is stable when it’s parked.

I pick up the saw tomorrow.  I will see what the dealer has in stock and I have a PM3500 coming, just in case.  I am hoping its easy enough to make my own but will wait until I have it in and figure out what I need to do.
