Modifying Domino 500 Board thickness gauge.

I was looking for a thickness gauge similar to the seneca imperial gauge but with metric measurements.  Something with stops for 12/15/18/25mm.  The seneca imperial gauge is $55 where as the festool part is $3.  My idea was to set the fence use the height gauge and then mark the thickness gauge for my preferences and cut the plastic piece to suit.  Anyone have a good technique for cutting this kind of plastic?  I was leaning towards a bandsaw and clean up with a file.  Thanks.

I'd use a very sharp chisel.  Now that you mention it though I'm tempted to make out of a hard maple for imperial.  I'll have to go take a closer look at my domino.  I'll post pics if I do it.
