[size=13pt]Headphones on, drifting along to 80s  music  as I mow around the dam edge. The semi conscious reminds me it's November; snake time! What's that curling around the mowers front dolly wheel ? F_ _ _ _,  it's the tail of an Australian Copperhead. I back off quickly and we both go our respective  ways.  [eek] In the snakes case quickly away from that big vibrating monster.

Just last week I was relaxing with a book and a wolf spider ran up my arm and bit me before I had a chance to shake it off. Fortunately for me their venom is nothing lethal ... unfortunately for the spider my foot was extremely lethal !!

[scared] Boy, makes me glad the biggest threat I have to face in my garden is a blackbird crapping all over the place.

[member=19746]Untidy Shop[/member] is was a drop from Mildura I've taken a serious liking to recently ...https://shinasestate.com/wines/the-executioner/

Not sure if the spider actually died from the trauma of the blow or possibly alcohol poisoning from biting me [big grin]

[member=5277]Alex[/member] it was a long time ago, but I was once knocked off my bicycle by Magpies in Sydney. Plus the Kookaburras here use psychological warfare on you at 4:30am [mad]

I'm standing in front of the carport at one end of the house, the dog is trotting towards me across the lawn from the other side of the house. As she passes the front door she suddenly jumps sideways as a brown snake strikes at her.

I wasn't sure that the snake missed but I was really surprised at how fast a dog can react when threatened.

Called the dog to make sure that she didn't retaliate and looked for the snake but it was gone. It had been in the grass 10' from the front door.

Just for you [member=13058]Kev[/member]
Remember they do hunt for snakes.  [big grin]
I wish they were my wake up call, the crows have even taken over from the magpies (No I am not talking about footy )!

Glad your dog was OK.

Now I am singing the song "Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree" and most likely will all day!

Cheers and stay away from the creepy crawlers!

Not surprised since everything animal or plant life in Australia is trying to kill you, isn't that what they say?
