Is anyone using 2 or more MFT's that are attached to each other with the connecting rods. I am thinking about bailing on my rig of a table made out of a sheet of 3/4" plywood that is attached to a 2x4 frame sitting on two sawhorses. The lack of clamping is an issue and I'm thinking it will just be easier to have 2 or 3 MFT's chained together. I am not interested in drilling out the plywood for the clamping capability and/or purchasing enough profiles to surround the table.

I have 2 MFTs linked together plus an extension for my woodworking vise.

I found the MFT braces really add to the stability as does the extension.

Search the FOG. There are a couple of nice cabinets built to hold 2 MFT's together which is nice because it ensures they are both going to be exactly level with each other. One of them is under "My MFT/3 Mobile Table".

Hi
I have 2 MFT'3 tables connected and it works really well.
Cutting sheet goods is easy and makes a great assembly surface.
Out feed for saw and CMS for large or long pieces has been superb.

I went to one of the Festool classes locally....they said 3 MFT/3s is the best...one guy said he had 5.  He needed the work space, but at the same time, he needed the ability to fold everything up and stash it away without taking up a ton of space.  [scared]

3 does seem to be optimum. It would allow you to make and L or use one of them to support long boards. I just don't have the space to keep them set up and don't really want to take one or more down when I want them out of the way. It's great idea, 3 is, if you have the space.

I have 2 Im gonna get another one when I get back to the states.

Makes life a lot easier. I just throw some scrap wood on top when I rip ply etc.

Is it possible to fully connect all 3 MFTs if you put them in a L shape? Loss of stability without one of the MFT connectors?

I don't need that. Maybe I'll get one. Got one. How did I live without one? Now I need another....
Festool......

You'll need the connectors to do it right. The connectors align the MFT, one of  the advantages of that is the holes are aligned and they will be more stable.

Here's how I look at it.ive said this before because it's what I believe.

Festool is a system. As a systems the tolls are designed to work in the system. The tables including the CMS and Kapex when used with a Festool table, stand etc are all set at 900mm. So you can cut long pieces with you Kpex, TS on a MFT etc and cut and slide down the table setting up a ingenious work flow. I set up stations., cutting, routing sanding etc with everything set up .

So with that being said yes 3 MFTs would be recommended if you have the room.

I use a single MFT and the 2m rails giving me a large single span across a single unit. Works a treat  :)

"As a systems the tolls are designed to work in the system."

Freudian slip there friend. The "Tolls" as in a charge, , an expense, a cost......the cost of a Festool addiction????

"Systems".......as in systematic reductions to wallet????
