My Festool Apron broke

Something weird and sad happened today. My Festool apron fell off my workbench onto the shop floor and one of the plastic clips broke. It was only a 3' drop. I guess the clip hit a certain way and the plastic snapped. Now the clip won't engage and I can't wear my apron anymore.
I was wondering if this is covered under warranty, or is it just tools that are covered. I purchased it about a week after it became available in Canada from my dealer in Markham, Ontario. I think it was early December.

Was the bench it fell off and the floor it hit made by Festool? Or were they a third party bench and floor? If they were Festool you should be ok, but if third party you might be out of luck!

The slot side broke. Spilt in half. The prong part is perfect. Was just looking at it to see how I could fix it without doing any sewing. My sewing machine won't go through that strap material. I hope an idea comes to me in my dreams as I wear it every day. My dealer does not have anymore in stock. So buying a new one is out of the option.

Mine seems to malfunction. When I'm wearing it it all kinds of stuff tends to fall into the lower pockets. I guess it doesn't malfunction so much as properly function as a chip collector. Does anyone else have this happen?

I would honestly doubt that there is a warranty on that product.  BUT I COULD BE WRONG.  When I was going thru my health crap late last year one of the things that I snuck into the hospital to keep my hands busy and hopefully stave off nerve damage was this:  http://www.speedystitcher.com/#the-basics

You could then pick up buckles in numerous places and have spares just in case.

Thanks Peter. I trust all is well. Just found the Sewing Awl on the Lee Valley web site. Going to get one tomorrow with a couple of clips and all will be good.

Everything is better than well.  I am the luckiest guy on earth.

Hope your awl serves me as well as mine did sewing thru ballistic nylon webbing for a suitcase, leather, etc.

Cool tool.  It has been around for decades.
