I finally broke down and purchased the mfk 700 laminate trimmer kit for a big 60 sheet install job. I got the kit and went over the machine took the base off put the other one on etc. I was suprised it didnt come with the edge guide it shows it in the systainer picture shows it in the owners manual and its on 3 of the you tube videos i watched.
My first job was to mortise out some 2x material to install a metal jamb. It was smooth running and cut the presure treated lumber with absolutely no hesitation. I will update my review when i get done with my laminate job.
A few things festool needs to seriously consider making for this tool is a small plunge base or a base so you can see the bit if you are freehanding something you have to guess where you dree your lines. The other accesory they need to make asap is a scribe to join 2 pieces of laminate together. Using a track saw to seam laminate (as suggested by the festool guy) is ridiculous. The systainer needs at least a place to store a minimum of 4 bits safely that way they are all together in one place when you need them. I think if the powers to be at festool would work on these items then they can be a serious contender to compete with the bosch or porter cable laminate trimmer kit.

Thanks for the MFK 700 review.  I'm looking forward to reading what you think after trimming laminate.  I'm a hobbyist and I'm considering getting one to trim my veneer projects.

As for the missing accessory....  I had the good fortune of being an idiot and ordering the wrong CMS table from Amazon.  I ordered the Model VL Set - P00109 that attaches to an MFT/3.
I didn't get that it only worked with the MFT/3.  I realized my error while the table was in transit so I figured, rather than hassle the return, I'd order an MFT/3.  (Very Happy With That)

The Model VL Set  MFT/3 arrives and I see that it doesn't have an out feed  extension.  Both the Festool description and the Amazon description (copied from Festool) stated that it came with the out feed table.  I contacted Amazon and rather than pay for shipping, etc they credited my CC $390.  Wow.

I since learned that, because of the MFT/3 design,  it's impossible to attach an out feed extension to the VL table.

Depending on where you bought the router you may be able to get some money or the accessory.
Both Festool and Amazon have corrected the descriptions.

I also found the fact it did not include  the Parallel Edge Guide odd, as pretty much in every picture description etc and pretty much never tells you it is not included very clearly, Really not a big deal but would have saved having to order after the fact as in my case I needed when I got the tool not a week later.

Think they should at least put in big bold red letters everywhere it is shown not included in current kit.

Guys, with regard to what's included, all of tools have a "Specifications" tab on their web page that shows what's included. It would be difficult to go through every product photo and list what's NOT included. The dust hose, the MFT, the router bits, etc. If you ever have a question about what's included, post it here, give us a call, or ask your dealer.

I have since found out in some countries its included. I don't always go to the website to drool before I purchase I need it we find a local dealer if there is one and go get the thing we need. The store I got it from didn't have a display. So that night I went to the you tube reviews and they all said it was included. Its not listed as an optional accessory anywhere I could find. So I went to amazon and had one delivered to my office I should get it when I get back in town.
Thanks for the comments  [tongue]
