I see lots of folks "pinning" cabinets together while gluing. Is that a 23 Gauge nailer folks use? Something else?

Separately, will 16 gauge suffice for finish woodwork like wainscoting?

If not then what do folks use?

Thanks!

There using a 18 gauge brad nailer.  The 16 gauge will work but kind of over kill for wainscoting, just use a 18 gauge. I only use my 16 gauge for hanging a door and my 18 gauge for just about everything else.

The pinner (23ga) is a great tool to have in the shop or job.  A good quality one will lease almost no indication a pin is there.  For cabinets I prefer a 18ga nailer to hold while gluing up, as the pinner is a bit to fine.  I use the pinner to attach small trim (especially something that can split easy) or in areas I really don't want to worry about a filler.
