Narrow Stock Rip Guides for the MFT

I just ordered a couple of rotary knobs that secure the fence on the CMS (I'm making something else and these are what work), they are M6x22,5 part number 482934, item 17 in the Ekat for the CMS. The Ekat does not have the cost per item, I'll let you know what it was when they arrive. There is also the lever knob for the LR 32 end stop part number 435323 (this is a great part), the size I know is 6mm, it does not list the length, I'll check mine latter.

How about the knobs for the clamping elements? If you have some it might be a good use for them.

Richard, can you post the part # on mcmaster's website?

60235K63.

I was mistaken, they are $7 each. Any M6-1.0 by 25MM long should work. Hope to have them in a couple weeks.

Richard,
Yea I had them pretty tight.  What I might do is find a couple 6mm cap screws (allen wrench type), that way I could tighten them fairly tight but not too tight.  I know that would call for an extra wrench but it's not that much trouble.  Maybe I'll get lucky an one of the allens on the Toolie will fit.

PS.  Still let me know when you get the little handle thingies in because I'll probably want a couple of them.

Once again, when i was 38, i never had problems with tightening wingnuts, L-nuts and knobs.
Since I just turned 39, I am never without my "extra thumb". A set of 8" channel locks is always in my pocket.
They solve a multitude of such problems.

I know what you mean Tinker, I'm almost 65 and the arthritis in my hands has gotten worse.  It really makes it hard to tighten stuff and even grip stuff a lot of the time.  That's why I may just get a couple cap screws and use them.

Rusty,

I countersunk a pair of rare earth magnets into the top of one of my Rip Guides to hold the allen wrench (picked up a cheap set at Harbor Freight) so the wrench would always be where I needed it.

Jack,
Great idea.  I have some rare earth mags so it will be no problem.  I know there are a lot of times I could use those things and I just forget I have them.

The larger rotary know is the 482934, it is $2.50, the smaller rotary knob is the 486234, it is $2.59 (both prices as of 9/3/2013). The thread on both knobs is 6x22.5.

The lever unit for the LR 35 is 6mm thread but only about 15mm in length.
