Hello Foggers. I am hoping you can help me out, I am in the middle of installing casing and molding for four bedrooms and my Grex Green Buddy won't shoot nails. I've read the manual, searched the web, tightened all screws. It appears the driver is fully extended and won't retract.

Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Any chance it's bent and that's the reason it won't retract?  Did it misfire or try to shoot a nail through metal just prior to this?

Remove the nose plate and see if you can get the driver out. Have a good look for any damage, and if you don't see any, reinstall it and see if the problem recurs. If it does, we need more info to help troubleshoot.

Sounds like a piece of a brad has jammed the driver. Do as Chris suggests, remove the nose and examine the driver area.

Gents, Thank you for your help. Here is a photo of the driver/piston fully extended and it won't retract. I am scared that if I push too hard I'll either bend or damage it.

Appears to be something jammed between the driver and the housing. It is very visible in the first photo.

Pry the driver away from the guide channel gently. As long as you don't get crazy you shouldn't hurt the driver.

I've been using (and fixing) air tools since 1971, Tom is correct, pry the blade loose, remove what ever is jamming the blade, lube (I use Houdini 4-Way Lock Lubricant), and reinstall.  The biggest problem I've had is with the headless pinners, if the pins are installed upside down they will often jam.

Thanks guys. I couldn't see it with my naked eye and now I can see it clearly. I am a little nervous about bending the driver but will give it a shot.
