Need systainer bench ideas

I am looking at building a systainer bench, approximately 2300w x 865h x 800d, with 4 or 5 banks of the usual slide-out systainer trays.  I am looking for creative ideas on how to utilize the space behind the systainer trays. The bench will be against a wall, so access from the rear will not be possible.

I have debated some dual-depth trays, say with the abrasive storage on the same tray with each sander, etc.

It may include a 4" pipe under the top, with Tee's coming up thru the back of the top for connection to miter saw, belt/disc sander, and spindle sander.  I know the Tee's will not be as efficient as a Wye, but installation will be simpler.

I have been looking at all the nice pics of various benches folks here have kindly posted, and am just seeking any other innovative ideas.

have you acess to the sides of the bench or only the front
you could use the bak half of the bench for storing guide rails etc or offcuts in cubby holes going the full width of the bench

you could make drawers on the ends that pull out sideways , onother systainer might fit there. you could make 2 (2 each side) full height pull out drawer (like a drawer but sideways) so that a shelfing area or a hanging area pulls out . accesories , DISKS, glues , parrallel guides, etc could be stored in there

you could use full depth drawers. i dont know if it would work or not but you could use a 300mm or 400mm full extension slide but have a deeper drawer . it will only bring half of it out but you can reach in for the last bit. if you used the back half for extra dominos,sanding disks, accesories or jigs it wouldnt be a big problem to remove the systainer first for the odd time you would be doing it.

I will have access to the front and limited access to one side - my drill press sits at the end.

Putting a slot for rail storage is great - I had not thought about that.

have you seen my systainer workbench

it is sort of what you describe, only not so wide in one piece, though on the left there is a smaller systainer bench, and on the right is my router table. i think you can use some of the clamping ideas.

edit, my workbench is only about 600mm deep and it hasn't bothered me so far. i needed the space, and you would indeed lose alot of space behind the systainer drawers by making it 800mm. but it is not my only workbench.

Thanks, Tim - I saw that, and it looks great.  I saved the pics for future reference.

However, I will not need any clamping capability at all for this bench, it will be purely storage below where my spindle sander, belt/disc sander, and miter saw sit.  The miter saw may move some day.
