New Blade for Kapex

Looking for some advice on a new blade for my Kapex. I have used The Festool Universal 60 Tooth saw blade, #495388, for the last 4 years and it has worked flawlessly for me, but with a price tage of $212.50 plus 13% tax I'm looking for an alternative.

Has anyone had any experience with the Tenryu 260mm 80T, 30mm Bore, ATAFR, Kapex Mitre Saw Blade. At a list price of $189.40 plus 13% tax it's a little more attractive to the pocket book.

That’s about $50/year or $4/month based on 4 years of use and a $212 price. Pretty good deal.

A more affordable option is Age Series from Amana Tools

I have the laminate TCG blade, haven't tried it yet since my Kapex is fairly new. I will give it a try this week end doing some short dados to see if it gives a nice cut.

I don't know the price in Canada but in the US Festool 203150 is a set of kapex blades a 60 tooth and a 80 tooth.
220.00 us for both blades 2 festool blades 110.00 per not bad !!!!!

Did you get it sharpened at all those 4 years ? If not then that may be cheaper.

I just installed a Tenryu Silencer 72T blade (SL-26072) on my Kapex while the stock 60T goes out for sharpening.  The blade was $73 on amazon with free shipping.  I ran a test cut in a piece of 2x4 Ipe left over from my deck project and I am very impressed with the cut quality in view of the price.  Here's the result:

Bought my Forest blades from them, they have great customer service.  I do not own this one yet, but definitely considering it.

JC,  I just bought this blade at the JLC Live last week.  After I installed and made a test cut, I had to look to see if I had made the cut it was so effortless.  My Festool blade never cut this good even when it was new.  I think I paid $103 USD "show price"

I'd say so, too. I average about 12 weeks from my blades!
