Last weekend at the Hartville Tool Expo, the new Porter Cable "Restorer" was demoed by the inventor and his son. He developed the prototype for use on restoring steel in his families crane business located in Northeastern Ohio. The tool is only rated at 3.5 amps, but it looked like it did a nice job removing rust and burnishing steel with the correct roller and the sanding sleeves were able to cut through paint and smooth rough wood. Wire and nylon bristle brush accessories are not available yet so we'll have to wait to see how well those will work. I'm not sure how this would compare to the $600 10 amp Metabo Burnisher, the Makita Brush Roller or others currently on the market, but at $99 ($89 pre-order show price) this is definitely a more affordable option. This one also features a built in dust collection port. The accessory sleeves and rollers available so far cost about $15. I think Lowes also has the tool.
