just got the new US catalog ....it is better than the old one but the European catalog is still a better resource. what do you guys think?

I was impressed by the safety equipment worn by the guys using that old Festool chainsaw on page 7. Kneesocks! That'll protect you from kickback!

Hi,

Yeah, and the hearing protection, safety glasses....sucking in fumes while leaning over the engine.....      That thing is probably so heavy that a kick back would just be felt as normal vibration by the user :D

I'm late to this thread because I just discovered my new catalog underneath a bunch of my wife's catalogs  :(

I haven't looked closely enough to find the typos. I wish the paper was opaque, so the ghosts of the next page aren't visible, but, since there are 40 more pages than last year it's a good tradeoff.

There are a lot of pics of people using the tools but more would be welcome. One that really intrigues me is on page 15. It's a sawhorse on steroids. Or rather, a sawhorse with a PhD. This is a rolling (lockable) height adjustable steel stand with vacuum clamp pods on the top surface, actuated by a foot switch. The Festool vac pump Sys is on a lower shelf. This is a brilliant thing! If we can get this we don't need the Walko.

If anyone knows where more pictures are please post them or the links.

And you call me Eagle Eyes.  Good noticing, Michael!

Another comment on the paper/printing. It is a bit surprising in this century to see how dark the photos are. Reminds me of duplicate slides from Kodachrome. Way too much filled in shadow.

Another interesting photo, the high tech waffle iron on page 148  ;)

I'd like to know what some of those tools are at the top of the photomontage on the inside cover, and the date of the photo.

Michael, truly great catch on page 15 but are you saying that you don't have the high tech waffle iron like the rest of us?? ;) :D 8)

As I pointed out in a different thread I know NOTHING about photography but I do very much agree with your comments on the darkness. ??? I had also commented on the lower quality of the paper this year. It worries me when I see a company, like Festool, so concerned and dominated by quality start to slip even a little. Fred

i noticed this saw horse thing. it seems that it has a vacuum clamps! once gain tools from europe that i can't get here. :-[

that is right......i wish it was more like the european one. for example...the 1010 trim attachment that is well shown and demonstrated is barely covered. i think that the trim attatchments are the best thing for that router.
