Hi Everyone
I have just finished the video of the three new compact finishing sanders (DTS 400, RTS 400 and ETS 125).
They are light, easy to handle and all come with MMC electronics (250 w motor), the new long life dust catcher and protectors. These sanders are very light (1.2 kg) and you cannot help but notice the hose when it is attached. The new chip catcher (Festool do not call it a dust catcher) works quite well and makes each sander ideal for overhead work.
I noticed that there was some dust not being collected if sanding strips narrower than the sander's pad when using the chip collector.
The protectors work just like those that I have seen with the Rotary sanders but the sanding action is gentle enough not to cause any noticeable damage to a vertical surface when they are not used.
I think that the DTS 400 and RTS 400 will be an absolute must-have for anyone finishing windows, doors or any other fiddly woodwork. The ETS 125 is a great light weight sander but I would stick with my ETS EC 150/3 for larger jobs.
