Yes! [big grin]
It does but on heave stuff it does drain the battery a little quicker! I have been told the 18V battery lasts longer than the 14.4v I own both the 14.v battery and 18V battery and at the moment I cnt tell the difference lol Well I have not thought to my self wow this 18v lasts longer.
You gotta weigh up a few things!
I often only use my jig saw just for cutting MDF, PLY, CHIPBOARD from 4mm upto 25mm and its perfectly fine the battery lasts long enough. So I think a corded jigsaw is OVER KILL for cutting any thing like sheet materials! I work with alot of softwood and MDFT architrave and skirting and for Scribing architrave and skirting it has enough power.
IF you was cutting a lot of lets say work tops 44mm or a lot of OAK or harder material then I would consider the corded version. The battery version will cut it easy enough as it does have a lot of power you would think its a corded jigsaw BUT like I said its still only a battery operated and a battery will only last for so long. When I do work tops and cut out for sinks and hobs I using my TS55 and then jigsaw the corners.
So for me a corded version would just be a overkill and a pain in the arse! As I would have to get a lead out especially or if I was set up some where out side but needed to jigsaw some where else atleast I can just pick it up and take it where I want! If it was possible to get a TS55,EHL65planer battery I would buy it! (I know dewalt do one but I dont like Dewalt!)
Soo for me the battery version has more than enough power!
