Hello guys,

recently I got my hands on a little set of the new DOMINO XL corner and surface connectors. I used and tested the corner connector and made a video of it:

Enjoy!

Look forward to this. Hopefully there's something in the pipeline for the DF500 and sheet goods. I can see many more useful real world applications for this in sheet goods than solid lumber.

Thanks to all you guys! I enjoyed making the video, but getting compliments now may even be better :-)

Regards, Sander

Hi Sander,

Where are you from since the connectors are not widely available yet?
And not even in small packages like yours.

Hi Neeleman,

Festool handed these out on the fair in Nurnberg last month.

Regards,  Sander

im more curious on durability of the connection after months and years of wear and tear of the furniture construction its being used to attach. wood movement and everyday rocking from use wont loosen the connection over time?

I think you're right, connections like this over time will undoubtedly suffer under the repeated loosening and retightening. But having seen the quality of the connectors, I doubt those themselves will be the reason. My guess is the wood will become the problem, with the fibers being compressed again and again.

I have a bed with less fancy connectors, and it has held up fine for 3+ decades.

Granted it did not see a lot of high mass testing, but it got more than low mass test cases to claim it was strong enough.

Unless there is some limit, can't the things just be tightened up a bit more as wear and tear progresses?
