Hi everyone

I have been wanting to invest in a new Festool drill for some time but i am being patient and holding out for the release of a new one (in the UK!). However, as always dealers are giving me conflicting reports on rumours they have heard from their reps. Does anyone have any ideas when any new ones are being released and if so what are the specs.

Thanks

Mandria1

Depends what you mean by 'a new one'.

The new C12 & C15 are already out, but stock is in short supply. Is it one of these you are after, or are you referring to some as-yet-unreleased model?

The UK site is listing the T18+3 on the banner of the T range, but as yet no further details.
Bet it gets launched when the new brochure comes out! ;D

I'm pretty sure, i already saw an product anouncement for DE in Early July .. now tried google it again.. and oh Wonder.. its not there any more.. Just the Google head line is showing the complete anouncement as it states:
--- cut here ---
Akku-Bohrschrauber T 12+3/T 15+3/T 18+3 - 2 Besuche - 16:06
Festool Deutschland: Startseite > Produkte ... Akku-Bohrschruaber T 18+3. Leistung im kompakten Format. Das Kraftpaket das zupackt. ...
www.festool.de/produkte/.../produktvergleich.aspx?foc... - Im Cache?
--- cut here ---

even the Google Cache was cleaned up :)  if you follow the included link, it's just showing the T12+3 and the T15+3.. so for some reason it seems to be withdrawn..

kind regards, Mike

On the Dutch Festool site, the T18+3 is offered along with the T15+3 and the T12+3 . There's only the SET until now.
What worries me though, is that it's said to be delivered in the new T_LOC systainer.....
The t-loc site doesn't seem to respond, but as I seem to remember, the T-LOC's didn't look very compatible with the normal systainers ??
I hope I'm wrong here, for that would be a SERIOUS downer..

Job,

The T-Loc site was up for a brief time.  I believe that it was accidentally set up and once word got out that it was out there the site was taken down until the real introduction date.  From my understanding of the new system, the t-loc can be used with existing systainers if it is on top of the previous model.  In other words, it will lock on top of the current models, but the current models will not lock on top of the new T-loc style.

I hope that this helps.

There is even an image of it:

The link to the picture is from the link in reply number 4 (click the small picture to enlarge)

My new C12 arrived yesterday, it has the same style beltclip as the T18, and also a ledlight.

Shame they couldn't get a LED into the new T18.  The light in the C15 is cool but one criticism, it goes out to quickly when the trigger is released.  I have seen me using my Makita impact driver as a torch on the odd occasion.  I know the batter life is an issue but i don't think another 2 or 3 seconds of LED light would make much of a difference on the battery.  Would have been cool if the time was adjustable  [smile]

Yeah, the T18 seems to be more likely a Battery Voltage refresh, as i expect it to have the same motor in there.. The Brushless DC Motors are known for standing hard beatings..
But how about this nice little piece:
http://www.amazon.com/Festool-496927-Fastfix-Drill-Headlamp/dp/B002VMTIB2

I have it on my T15 and it works very well.. uses one standard AAA Battery and has ambidextrous on/off pusbutton switch.. and if mounted below the Chuck (not like the Amazon Ad.. above)
it'll be switchable with your pointing fingeron either side..

Light pressure on the trigger will turn the LED on without turning the drill on.

Brice, you are right but as soon as you let go the light goes out.  Just a little too sudden for me but hey, don't get me wrong, i think its great that Festool have managed to get a light into some of their drill at long last.  & it is a very nicely positioned light  [smile]

can you get a replacement battery from your dealer to see if the battery is the problem -
LiIon batteries have a strange behavior, casue they tend to die after a certain time, even though they may have not been used - just sittinbg around - if the

battery is older than 3 years, you can expect no mpore than 30 to 40% percent of the initial capacity - Festool is one of the manufacturers, which give a

three you a three year guarantee for batteries, but not longer cause of the chemical dead.
A good thing for LiIon batteries is to recharge them frequently  and do not discharge them until they are completely exhausted.

Here is a ver d article about thiproblem and how to mitigate it:
