Well... I bit the bullet (hard).

I decided recently to commit to only buying tools once, and buying the absolute best example of each that I can get my hands on. I started by replacing all my levels with Stabila (24" digital, torpedo, 32", 68")... then woodpecker squares and rulers... then the big one:

Kapex
Domino
Carvex 420
CT 26
Rotex 90

So far, I'm still waiting on delivery of the CT and Rotex.

No more excuses for crummy carpentry on my part.

Welcome to FOG and congratulations on your first Festool purchase.  You picked out some great tools.

Lots of help here if you have questions.  Look forward to seeing photos of some of your work.

Welcome Cap to the FOG and the Festool world!  And also thank you Neil for the heartfelt welcome.

As you experience your new tools we are all here.

[welcome] to the FOG and congrats on your decision. You have an excellent start there!

Now that you've joined us as both a FOG member and Festool owner, please tell us a little about yourself, your shop, and your projects? And don't forget to post pictures - we LOVE pictures!

Pictures to follow... my garage / shop is in the middle of a major cleaning effort.

I am not a professional (or really even moderately skilled) woodworker. My effort is restricted to remodeling our hundred year-old home in Fort Worth, TX.

At the moment, we are gutting and remodeling our kitchen, master bath, guest bath, and living room... I have a very understanding wife.

I travel for work, and only have periodic weekends to dedicate to the effort. I think (and I hope to be proven right in the coming weeks) that migrating to the Festool system will eliminate the minor aggravations I find with my current tools, and make more efficient use of the very limited time I have to dedicate to these projects.

You poor soul now you went and did it. Well we're here to help you increase you addiction

I became aggravated with my Bosch router yesterday and added an OF 1400 to the mix... it should arrive today.

Still waiting on the CT and Rotex.

I've been doing a lot of work with the Kapex and Carvex the last two days, and they are an absolute JOY to work with. They simply perform the way I ask them to.

FYI - I migrated to the Kapex from a 5 yr old Rigid 10" Miter saw, and to the Carvex from a Rigid Jobmax with the Jigsaw head attachment. There is really no comparison to be made...
