It's great to see the innovative hybrid sander, but the price of the set seems slight steep.

Is it just me, or is the new ETS 125 REQ just a rebadged Pro 5 LTD?  Is the motor or stroke size any different?

Its the other way around, the pro 5 was a rebadged ETS 125 REQ.  They are the same except the new ETS125 REQ comes with the dust bag.  Tyler can correct me if I'm wrong.

The surface control light is a nice idea but maybe not at $300, then $75 (set price) for the adapter, and another $204 for the tripod.  That's $579 total to light about four feet of wall.  At that price I'd like to see it twice as long with a hinge in the middle so you could fold it for storage/transport.

I also like the idea of the cordless sanders.
Basic prices, $195 and $260
Plus, $400 and $465
Set, $535 and $600

I won't be jumping in, the price tag is a little too much for me.

Still a bargain in the US compared to the rest of the world (and that's considering exchange rates and local taxes). I'd be willing to gamble the "basic" $US195 will hit Oz at worse than $AU500 [sad]

Yes, the ETS 125 REQ and the PRO 5 LTD are highly comparable sanders. It goes without saying, but the Systainer color would be another difference.

What are the prices of the TS55/75 without rail?  I assume approximately less 75% the price of the guide rail or something...

Do any of the kits (basic, plus, or kit) come with a cord and is that cord the same plug-it cord used on all other tools. It looks like it is but watching the video there was no mention of that which I saw.

I think it would have been nice, and justified the expense somewhat, if the RTSC and DTSC were actually one sander with two different shaped platens that accepted the different shape sandpaper, one for general sanding or large areas and the other for details and reaching into tight spots. Just pop one platen off and attach the other depending on the work. I will have a hard time justifying $1200Us for these two sanders which appear to be identical except for the shape of the paper they use or is there some other difference I am not seeing?

The Set version includes a Plug-It cord, and you can use the same one that comes with other Festool tools. Here's a photo to show how both the line adapter and the battery fit into one of the new sanders.

I think this table will explains what accessories in the kits (Basic, Plus, Set). Only Plus and Set kit comes with the AC power adapter

[member=57769]TylerC[/member]  According to your very first post above, the set versions do come with a plug-it cord.

I stand corrected. Yes, the Set version includes the Plug-It. I'll update my original answer.

I'm looking back at your original post and I see that is does say the plug-it comes with the set. I missed that entirely when I first read it, and when I watched the video as I said if they mentioned the plug-it cord I did not catch it there either. So I missed that the first time I read it. Sorry all.

One additional note/correction to the OP. The SET versions come in a SYS-Combi 2.

The dangers of a quick copy/paste.

Ha, I've been bitten by the copy/paste thing too, [member=57769]TylerC[/member]. It happens.  [big grin]

I would like to see the 3 cordless sanders offered in a single package. Have no use for 2 additional Systainers. Maybe a package for the set with the other 2 sanders offered as tool only. The 3 items are around $1055 if purchased as a set plus 2 additional sanders. Yikes!!!!

I'll surely be buying the new LED inspection light since I've been pleased with the Duo light that I bought with the tripod. I hope the new LED light comes with a nylon case. Glad to see that it has an ON/OFF button. I hope that Festool starts to offer an adjustable wall mount bracket for the Duo so it can be mounted to my shop wall. I don't want to set up the tripod in the middle of my shop floor but I'd sure like to clip it to a dedicated spot on the wall especially with an adjustable bracket assembly.
