So I found this place after building one of the wood whisperers projects where he used the domino. I had never heard of festool or a dominio joiner before. Now I struggle internally with tossing one on my credit card or not.

I have a ton of bosch stuff and a dewalt dust extractor. I can see going festool as some of this stuff wears out. Quality items. Looking forward to learning more woodworking tips and tricks here

Hi,

  Welcome !  [smile]

What did you use in place of the Domino on the project?

Seth

Your first hit of the green coolaid might need to be done with some painkillers in your system...  [big grin] After that it feels normal! [tongue] [eek]

It was the kids "kitchen helper" I used pocket screws with plugs as the frame was getting painted anyhow.

What one builds determines what one needs.
What is there in addition to a kitchen helper?

Coffee table
garbage bin holder
Pull outs for kitchen cabinets
Another kitchen helper (for my other niece)
A toy box for yet another niece (yep i am the only one who brought boys into this family)

That's all that is on the agenda right now

Using "sheet goods" or wood?

For using on real wood a Domino is nice.
For sheet goods (and if doing enough to justify a tool) then the Lamello Zeta-p2 is good.

Mostly real wood.

While a domino could be handy, don't get rid of the Bosch and deWalt gear you have.

You may need an adapter for the vacuum.

Of there is a place nearby for one for you to try that would be useful.

Oh I wasn't planning on dumping the things I have. Just possibly replace with festool as some of it wears out or needs to be upgraded.

Not so much koolaide - more like going down the rabbit hole [big grin]

Welcome to the family .. even if it's only as an honorary member for the moment [wink]
