From the video, it appears a regular right hand screw thread.  I think it is fine this way as any feather boards that I have ever built for miter slot use on my table saw were the same and never had a problem.  I think the spacing of the fingers and the relative flexibility of the plastic material are what makes this work.  Interesting and simple concept, but I don't see any real advantages over a traditional slotted featherboard for the price.

Jack, I know that they state that it will not work with metric miter slots. I believe the Hammer is metric, right?

The miter clamp is cast aluminum and CNC milled for tight tolerances and a precision fit.  It is designed to fit 3/4-inch wide miter slots. If you have a 5/8-inch or metric miter slot, the Hedgehog miter clamp will not fit.

I'd make this spring loaded (think of cutter head guard on a joiner) and make torque adjustable. Then no need to re-position it at all between cuts.
