There it finally is: LM-OF 1010 R lightmodule (#578055).
It's a USB-C rechargeable LED module with up to 6 workinghours.

Where can we see more, that looks super useful!

I see there's a button to turn it on, I think it would be cool if it had an auto-on too. I've seen shop vac triggers that operate of tool vibration which might work here!

Festool just posted a YouTube about the light here:=Z2w9BQpKcHjFK_M5

The design does look pretty nice, with the lights right down on the aperture of the base plate. But WHY this wasn't just included with the redesigned router 1 year ago, and WHY it needs charging on its own is ridiculous Festool!

I have the OF 1010 EQ-F USA 120V.  Will this work with my 1010?

Bob

It appears to replace the dust shroud, which is different between the OF 1010 and the OF 1010 R, so I doubt it would work without significant pain.

This looks really cool and would be very useful.

They've also released a video of a new parallel guide and accessory set which seems to be aimed at the OF 1010 R too.

Wohoo! Festool seems to have listened! And it seems to be very well designed too. A must have, but only available after February -24.

There’s also a new clear base that they say shall increase visibility with the light module.. hmm.

There’s also an accessory kit coming, although I think many have most from before. Good that it is for even the older OF 900-1000 series:

Zubehör-Set  ZS-OF 1010 M
für OF 900, OF 1000, OF 1010, OF 1010 R

He’s made a nifty one for the OF 1400 too! Looks very good.
And even the one for the “old” OF 1010.

I noticed on the new fence that there is made room for pins that are even narrower than those on the 1010.. Could it be a battery “OFC” in the works soon? I’m sure there WILL be a battery router from Festool very soon (They cannot be without, especially when every other manufacturer have one, or two..) It suits the “mobile workshop” strategy..:

It looks like there are knobs on that fence to dial in the opening, too.  Intriguing...

Found it listed under OF accessories on the German page.
It’ll fit the MFK base.
I have been thinking that the MFK’s will be replaced by battery operated ones.. maybe on the 12V platform as the new CXS 12V. I’ve spoken to a local cabinet maker who sold his MFK 700 in order to be replaced by the Bosch 12V edge router, and he was very happy to use that instead…

Art. no’ in the top left corner:

When I bought the new OF 1010 R last year I was unpleasently surprised it still had the very old parallel side fence.
I think this model is sold more then 20 years because I already had when I used my first FT router the OF 900.
My main complain is that the plastic sliders cannot slide along the fence to close the gap just like with the OF 1400 model.
Last year I complained about it to Festool Holland and they said it would be reported to the main office in Germany.
And voila it's finally here. And the plastic sliders are even on a kind of roller instead of screws.

Isn't this gadget just going to get obliterated by sawdust and resin?

Very likely [big grin] But, from the beautiful clean looking photographs it looks promising that it’s will be faster and more convenient to adjust, even covered by whatever you like..
Also that it’s likely that you don’t need loose parts to micro adjust, and even adjusting the plastic fence without tools..

I don't think so if proper dust extraction/regular maintenance is used.

Ooo, very nice! I like that the power module is separate from the lighting module. I'd prefer it to use standard AAA or AA NiMh, but who knows what's in there. Looks like it has nice, even lighting; good for not awesome eyes!

Prices:
Set -> €305
Light Only -> €41

I can't tell if this is with VAT or without. Take a look at the link below and you will see VAT mentioned and then in red a higher price which does not match with rate.

While everyone is worked up on new stuff. Look at the cutter box included with the 1400 EBQ Plus Kit

My dealer tells me this is scheduled for release in Europe in Feb 24, he has no if/when for NA.....

Thought I’d share this.
I Received the new fence and LED light Friday after pre-ordering as soon as possible.

A bonus is that the fence fits my Makita cordless router plunge base! So it means it can maybe fit more brands out there. Photo below.

Edit: For those who like me.. struggles a bit with light OCD.. the fence is a bit offset to the throat of the OF 1010.. the opening is more than wide enough, and probably is spot on on the MFK 700 (Nearly so on the Makita base as well, as seen in the photos)

Also, I must say that the light made a HUGE! [blink] improval to the visibility of the surface.
Below two photos adjusted very closely to what the (mine…) eyes could see in a medium lit room in the evening. With the light on, lowest setting (more than enough, and 6hr battery life..)
there’s much better visibility than if the light was on the motor head itself. So being an afterthought it actually benefits from it.
See for yourself:
