Just purchased the midi and rotex 90 and all I can say is WOW. If only I picked these up 4 years ago I would have been much more profitable. Never thought I'd be excited to start sanding. Rotex 125 / 150 is next! Here's a few pics of pieces off a couple boats I sanded and re-sprayed the day I purchased. Unfortunately the hull painting was done before festool, but got another to do in a couple weeks.Alexseal 501 clear was used and is my go-to, whether brushing or spraying.

Welcome to the FOG!  Sanding sucks but in my experience - and perhaps yours too - sanding is more fun with a Festool sander.

How do you like working with the alexseal?  I have some top sides to do,and have heard good things.

Do you spray or roll and tip the hull?

Alexseal is great, easy to use , multiple coats a day ,etc. I've used just about everything for the marine environment and it's absolutely my favorite. The hull was sprayed and was my first one ever. Helps when you know to to wetsand/buff  [wink]

Obviously it depends on your surface and exposure,but I've seen alexseal last over 5 years over west system 207 on teak with pretty heavy usage.I've even seen boats with alexseal over 1 part spar varnish go 2 years without maintance coats . All this in the worst saltwater environment in South Carolina.  It's all about having the proper mills of thickness .
