I was setting up my new MFT/3 table today and it was a bit confusing as there are no factory set stops setup on the rails.  So not sure where to set the fence or how to get this square.  Are these no longer installed by the factory ?  ???

What is the distance that the fence should be set to the end of the rails ?  What is the best way to square up the table ilo not having these  ?

Festool support - how do I get these for my table ?

Thanks

Martin

That is weird.  I would give Festool a call on Monday.  The feather keys aka "stops" are easy to install and they can give you the measurement on each side -- one is set farther in than the other.  Someone here might know the measurement offhand.  I can go to my shop and measure too if no one responds tomorrow.

First,

Welcome to the FOG!  Just in case you were looking for stops on the extrusions, they are actually in the extrusions.  If they aren't in the extrusions, then you should call Festool to get the parts.  Here is a screen shot of what the stops look like installed.

Hope that is helps.

Mine both measure 222mm from the right end of the extrusion on the front side and 190mm from the left end of the extrusion on the rear (fence) side.

Not saying it is your issue...but I did have a friend only look on one end for them.... they are only on one place on the long sides. There is a front to the table and then they are on the right side.  The Adjustable foot normally is at the front right.

Steve

Thanks for the measurements Scott.  I have it temporarily setup and squared off to cut.  And yes Peter, thanks for the photo.  My setup does not have the stops at all. You can slide the rail guides all the way left to right and off the ends.

Thanks

Martin,

Please contact Festool USA and let them know what you got.  One of my ETS 150/3 had a top piece that said "5" Festool wanted to know serial number so they could talk to the person that assembled it  [scared]..

I have to say Festool does stand behind the product and will make it right.

Cheers,
Steve

When I bought my MFT/3 is never had the stops.

I had no clue they where missing until I watched a youtube video on how to set up the MFT/3.......5 months after I had bought it.  [huh]

It was no big deal to me.  I just set up the fence and rail and squared it all up.

Then when Festool had the recondition sale, I bought a MFT 800 and the stops came installed on it.  So now I have stops on my MFT/3, but I never

move the fence and rail.

Personally, I don't need the stops.  I never remove the fence and rail from the table.  But if you are going to removing it a lot, I can see how they would help.
