New old bandsaw

I would like to get advice on where to go about with my bandsaw.

It is a cast iron Finnish made machine build in 1965 by Man-Ko in Lahti. I bought it off a school as it didn't meet the whatever EU requirements anymore. €150  [laughing] It's not the brake I would think as they did at some point install an electronic brake which works well. She weights about 500 kilograms and the flywheels are 50 centimeters in diameter. After I removed the guard that it came with, it can reach a re-saw hight of about 30-something centimeters. The guard was designed to be installed in such a manner that it took about five centimeters of its maximum hight) I intend the saw to be used mainly for re-sawing besides of course the usual bandsaw work. I would like to install some kind of guard again but it's not first priority. Under the table there were two blocks of Oak functioning as lower guides. I replaced those blocks with nylon blocks instead that hold a bearing on either side (offset unfortunately) but I think that the Oak guide blocks did an as good job at guiding the blade as the bearings do but they were so worn of that I gave it my best shot for improvement. There is and was no guide behind the blade under the table and I'd like to get one there but I don't know how as there isnt a lot of space to install anything let alone being capable of adjusting it. Any tips or tricks welcome! The dust collection port isn't very up to date as to be expected from an older saw like this. With plywood I did my best to improve over what was already there. There came a cast iron miter gauge but the track it is installed on is obviously not the original one as its a sloppy fit in the table's slot. No issue though as it is an easy fix. With this saw used to come a fence but unfortunately mine didn't have one. Have been pondering should I build something out of plywood or purchase something. For re-sawing I'd like to have a single pivot fence. After looking a bit at Magjig/ Magswitch options I ordered bits and pieces from rutlands uk and will arrive next week. They will come in handy at other machinery in the shop too. If theres anyone out here that has thoughts about lower guides, a guard improvements then I'd very much like to hear from you.

Kind regards,
Mauri

((this is a updated text reupload from a previously failed attempt posting images about a month ago. By now the saw is set up to the dust extractor))
