Anyone seen anything about this one?
http://www.evolutionpowertools.com/uk/build/r210cms/

I had the older RAGE 3s which was "ok" but a bit wobbly and not very accurate for wood. This one I like though, it seems compact and fairly versatile.

I am getting one, I don't cut steel that often, but it happens and I miss the old RAGE I had at times but this one simply looks smaller and better for what I do. Sales rep told me about this saw when we were looking at the Kapex KS60 and the price indication he had was that it was very reasonably priced so I think he baited me good, hook, line and sinker.  [big grin]

Here's a review of the saw, but it's Dutch spoken.
The saw is really cheap at only € 60.95 at ScrewFix UK.

Thanks! :)

It was even cheaper than I thought, a no brainer for me, I have the first task for it coming up next month already. :)

Under 6kg and can be used for simple framing tasks? Sign me up! ;)

Good to know. I would probably use it almost exclusively for cutting metal but I can see a use for it cutting studs for interior walls too, if needed.

This forum costs me money. I had never heard of this saw until I saw Henriks post yesterday, have never needed a mitre saw to cut metal as I have a metal bandsaw, but the video impressed me such that a swift online click and collect to Screwfix resulted in one in my sticky mitts last night.

£49.99 well spent, this little saw is a cracker and after a small amount of fence and blade adjusting, it was cutting oak, pine, 15mm copper tubing, pvc drainpipe and some 2" mild steel one after the other.  No blade change, no speed change (there is none) but a very impressive cut with no burrs on the pipe and almost perfect mitres on the wood.

For the money is is stunning value and whilst it is built to a price, the fence and soleplate/turntable are flat and well machined. The motor is err 'robust' and jumps into life immediately and whilst not particularly quiet, did not baulk at all when cutting through the oak. I does not have a brake and spins for a bit after stopping but the guard is excellent. A Festool 27mm hose fits direct into the extractor outlet and does collect some of the dust....well not a lot really but its better than nothing.

There is a crude but very effective hold down which can be positioned either side of the fence and the compact nature of the saw and  it is very light.

It comes with a 3 year warranty, cost £10 more than a Festool HZ-FS160 clamp and is, in my humble opinion, a fantastic little bit of kit which will wait patiently until I need to cut some metal or plastic. Thank you Henrik for your post and if you haven't got one yet I really recommend it.

PatR: thank you for the feedback!  [smile]

Always good to hear a real life experience with a product that is being discussed. I am not expecting the highest quality saw for that price - but it seems to perform well above the cost, and more importantly: for me it has a place in the arsenal.

My dealer doesn't have any in stock but will have it by the time I am back from my vacation.
