New Saw and it is great.

I needed and new saw, and was going to get one of the big full blown cabinet saws until I heard about Festool. I need a saw to make a big built in entertainment center, so this meant a lot of sheet goods to me. I think I may have solved the problem with a new cabinet saw and a TS-55. To me this looks like the best of both worlds. Instead of getting the 3hp cabinet saw I now went for the 1.75hp Steel City 35670, with the industrial fence. Now this fence, well lets just say it will move across the table with the push of a finger.
Now I made my first cut with the TS-55 today and could not believe my eyes, it was better and than the factory cut. Not only could you see it, but it was the smoothest cut I had ever seen.
I think I will be using it this weekend to cut some hardwood flooring, I think it will be the perfect tool for that job.
I think I will be getting a lot of use out of this.
I just want to say thanks to those on this forum, you have been a great help in my decision.

I think you have two great saws there. Spend a little time in setting up the Festool workstation and you will really be able to enjoy panel cutting. If you haven't  seen these pages, I suggest to peruse:

If you are doing flooring, and you don't want to go back to bench or horses for each cut, just set your saw so it does not go all the way thru the wood and make all your cuts right on the floor. If set properly, theblade will never touch the subfloor (where there are nails at surface), nor if cutting directly on top of other lumber.  I have done it that way, but lately, need the break of standing and walking a little.  I also cut sheets right on the truck this way.  It can be done with other saws, but you always have to worry that the blade stops spinning or the blade guard does not stick.  with your new plunge cut saw, you don't have to worry about those things.  Just pick up on the saw and the blade disappears. you will ove that if you are doing flooring.
