Today my sister told me she heard a festool ad on the radio! i don't know what's the strangest about that, festool ad on radio, or my dependence getting so extreme that my sister knows about festool??

Anyway that caused me to take a visit to the Belgian festool site and i saw these:

RUBIN 2

MFH 1000

This info must be new because it's not even on the dutch version of the Belgian Festool site

edited the MFH link to english festool site,

A lot of people in my area are unaware of what they are. If I heard an ad on the radio I would be amazed.
I can not read the language on the Rubin2 page what is it designed for?

Here ya go, Sean. Use google.com/translate to convert it to English.

Rubin 2 is just an updated flavor of an existing abrasive we have, Rubin. It's made primarily for bare wood. The new version looks to have similar properties to Granat like anti-clogging and longer lasting.

Has anyone tried Rubin 2 yet?  I never liked the original Rubin.  It never lasted long, got dull real quick.  Just wanted to hear some impressions with the upgrade.  ??? ??? :o

I have, but only since a couple of weeks. At first sight you do notice a difference, it is somehwat getting closer to granat in the way that i now seem to replace the pad because it's too damaged, rather than because it feels worn.
I have been sanding hardwood worktops with it these days, and where i used to replace the pads after two worktops  i sanded three and a smaller fourth worktop with the same pads.

i have used maybe 2-3 sheets of rubin 2
it seemed to last longer and clog less than i remember rubin 1 doing. but i have no solid facts on it. it did the job and well

I bought a box of 50 pads last year & i really like them.  Always used to use Brilliant so cant tell you how they compare with Rubin 1, sorry !

I'm still waiting for an assortment of Rubin2 and Brilliant2 to come out.
