Got the go-ahead for my job on Tuesday!
Bought a 1010 and a LR32 55" rail, they had to order my plate and centering mandrel, but it should be here next week.
I needed to use the 1010 today to assemble some plywood boxes, I wanted to rabbit the edges and then glue and staple the cuts. I realized that the 1010 didn't come with an edge guide (it did come with a rail guide, however I think it would be better paired with the edge guide instead), so I stopped at the shop in the morning on the way in to my shop. They didn't have the guide in stock, so I ordered it.
Since I just bought the 1010 and couldn't use it, my guy suggested I take the demo 1400 they had in the showroom so I could get the job done today.
Well, all I can say is, what a great tool!
It was real easy to set-up for the task, and it operated smoothly and efficiently. Very comfortable too. I had to do about an hour of repetitive passes and it was not fatiguing at all. The 1010 would have been even more comfortable than the larger 1400. The only complaint I could make would be that the edge guide didn't seem to lay flat on the bottom of the router base. There was a gap of about .125" between the base and the guide. This caused long splinter type pieces that come off when rabbiting plywood to get stuck in the gap. It wasn't a big deal, and I may have not set it up properly, but it would be better if they fit tightly.
Well, I've now been bitten by the bug and will likely end-up needing some sort of rehab group to stop enlarging my collection of Green tools. If I can make money faster with a better tool, then I don't feel so bad spending the extra money for the good stuff.
I guess that's the best way to look at it.
