Hi All,
Have been reading here and getting great ideas for a few months before posting anything, Have a pic of a Ron Paulk bench and a mft table sys port I got from the blogs in this section, can't say enough about the pile of info on this site.
This is a great little system for me to take on the run the sys port stays in the shop and just take the tables to the gig, for sure Ron had a great idea on this, I was skeptical at first but the table is strong and sturdy I will make the chop saw version of his soon.
Have a few questions on the mft table for a few years, have neglected it and have revisited lately to try and get this thing square and effecient time wise.
I feel it is too sensitive in a lot of areas to be a time saver in my opinion. have the dogs , starret square , have dogs behind the fence to minimize moment, not a ape slamming it into the fence, look at every video on utube and made sure no debris between fence and material and everything is locked down. But for me I can get the table to read square with dogs and squares etc...
When I check the material it is not square, the best test that I'm aware of is putting your common pieces together and feel the edges and that works until you rotate the piece and it is off.
I did have it totally square one time durring a cutting session but before I finish the run it was out, took the time to check between cuts.
For bigger projects its totally worth it to outsourse the cab componets and assemble on site or at the shop , but want to use this a little more I know somebody out there has it truly dialed in.
thanks
