New tool announcement - Festool - New Product 2008

Hello to all,

This is my first posting... On this day, be sure to check out Festool USA Web site. 3 new tools will be announced, according to the SysNotes February 2008. We aready about the new MFT/3, but the other is a wild guess.

For my part, I think they will introduce their KAPEX KS 120, a sliding compound mitre saw, and the modular router MFK 700 EQ, a changeable router base system.

My guess would be MFT3, MFK 700EQ, and OF2200. I've heard that we won't see the Kapex until lake summer at the earliest, and the new Festool drill probably won't be here till the end of the year. Anyways, that's my guess!! By the way, welcome to the forum rdufresne50!!

My (forlorn) hope is that they announce the Compact Module System.  But I expect that the two Dans are correct.

I spoke with a Festool rep a few weeks ago, he indicated we won't see the Kapex till later in the summer, and the new drills most likely won't be until next winter. So, based on that info, I'm assuming we'll see the routers and MFT3 first?.... I also imagine any coming product releases will be not until after the price increase... :'(

Look at the bright side.  At least that way, there is no price increase on the new tools!

Aww man, I thought for sure it was going to include the Kapex... now I'm prepared for disappointment I guess. At least my wallet will be happy.

If it was the CMS, the Kapex, and the new MFT, I'd be in big trouble financially... especially since I'm already in so much trouble after the TS 75, the OF 1400 and the Domino!

I can certainly do without the MFK700 and OF2200!

I copied this information from this message.

Festool's 2008 pricelist for Switzerland contains a Festool T 12 and a T 15 cordless drill. According to the pricelist, both tools will be offered with NiCd, NiMH and LI batteries.
This is all I know about these drills. More specifics are not available to me.

Lately, I heard rumors that the new drills won't be available in Europe until Fall 2008, but, as mentioned, that's a rumor that hasn't been officially confirmed by Festool (yet).
Another new Festool Europeans may expect to be introduced in 2008 (most likely in Spring) is the VAC SYS - a vacuum hold-down jig.

My guess would be MFT3, MFK 700EQ, and OF2200.

Based on the link in the thread below (movie made end of 2007), it could just be the OF2200, MFK 700 and Kapex (I hesitate to say so, because I don't want to jinx the very possibility).  I think I'm going to stop going to Starbuck's for a while and save the green for the green if you know what I mean:

Hey Shane there is a woodworking show in Minneapolis, MN on March 1st. Festool is listed on the vendor list, through a local dist. I would guess, any way any chance the new introductions will be at that show?? ;D ;D ;D

Not trying to stir the pot here but I am under the impression the MFT 3 will not be ready for release on March 1st.

I still think the MFK 700 and OF 2200 are new products which will be released on March 1st and am starting to wonder if the KAPEX may not be the third. I mention that cause I remember Ron Pegram mentioning he was clearing or planning warehouse space for the KAPEX's and I wonder why anyone would be doing that in Feb when the product is not supposed to be released till late summer.

Then yet again maybe the third product is the Toolie 2  ;D

The short answer is no.  However, there will be information about where you can see them in a special edition of SysNotes coming soon.
