Looks like last year's rumours come true and we finally get a replacement for the infamous PSC 400 family! By the looks of it it's a cordless spiritual successor to a PS 300, focussing on a no frills, down-to-earth basic functionality approach.
In other news: a 6 amp quad charger in systainer format as well as 4 and 8Ah tabless batteries will also hit the shelves mid-spring. Who knows, maybe that'll finally solve the abysimal performance of the cordless vacs? Fingers crossed!

Do not like the look of the jigsaw. It has that "tool of last resort" vibe to me, more so than the CARVEX. Though it is likely to be better in this role than the CARVEX.

It seems like a complement to the RTSC 2 series and the DTSC 200 series - another general "hobby" user focused tool that is still well-made but does not try shooting "above and beyond" the competition, possibly except its weight. Hopefully they made it compatible with the CARVEX accessories - mainly the rail slide and related stuff which are excellent.

The thing here is, you got it backwards. The Trion is MORE complex than the CARVEX as far as the mechanics go. That also why it is heavier. The TRION competes in the P1Cc class, this new one is unlikely to.

On the SYS-MC front it is a lost opportunity. It should have been an Airstream charger to be able to act as one's sole charger. Even 8A would have been fine. This way it is useless unless you have way too many packs around .. at which point .. why take it with you. Argh! Back to my charger-systainer project then.


Then the new SYS3 class PH is another case of wasted space. 30 mm for zero benefit in function. They should have made it into the 112 or at least 137 form factors.


/end rant .. sorry, all I see are a downgrade (SYS3-PH), one meh (SYS-MC), one side-grade (jigsaw) and only one upgrade - the tabless packs.
 
More interesting than a new jigsaw (I have two already) is this though - when did that get added?

Finally, more information on the new batteries and the new charger. The charger charges 4 batteries in parallel as opposed to the usual series solution.

And then...a seat cushion...and a couple of accessories for the TS 55 & TSC 55 saws.

However, my money's on the boom arm that's portable or it can be attached to the wall.



This 2-way valve is pretty slick however it would have been that much nicer if the switching was automatic dictated by which battery tool you're using.

Thanks Cheese. Looks well thought out. (Although I’m confused by figure 4.2.)

I don’t do enough plunge cuts to justify buying it.

For these cuts I use my old ATF 55 for which I have the steel side plate that helps contain dust and has a nice matte surface that takes pencil marks well. I can transfer the ends of the kerf via pencil to the side plate and then know exactly where the kerf is going to be. Too bad they didn’t make a similar plate for the next generation TS saws. Since my plunge cuts are seldom more than 3/4” deep I can also use this little Freud saw blade that makes a kerf barely wider than the fine tooth jigsaw blade I use to finish the cutout. This combination with the narrow kerf blade allows me to use the cut out as a drawer front or door in the same panel it is cut from so the figure is not interrupted.
 
The boom arm is pretty cool, but I don't see my 6' 2", 225 lb self sitting on a Systainer?
The filament, took me a second to find, but there is green too.

You should reconsider.

The standard size systainers can handle about 500+ lb of static /non-moving/ load when placed on a cart or otherwise the weight being spread. Standalone on floor the feet are the weak spots so dynamic loads of 200+lb like standing/sitting are problematic. Yes, I tested it ... did not have more weights to test with then.

The are absolutely usable for standing on or sitting on. Even with my 280+ diminutive frame .. yes, I really should get under 250. :D

This is great if one is going around with a cart as it can be put either directly on the cart or on an arbitrarily high stack. In the past one has to buy the SYS-MFT for the purpose which was not really comfortable. IMO this one is a must-have for site animals.
 
I got some foam CNC'd years ago to fit into a systainer and use it regularly for sitting on when working or mostly for my knees. If fits nicely in a systainer. I am still interested in the seat cushion, not sure I'll get it as it needs to sit at the top of systainer stack but still cool.

Does anybody have any more info on the new systainer power hub which @mino has mentioned and is shown in one of the photos above? There hasn't been mention of it yet in this thread and I can't find it on google either. I agree, it's a lot of wasted space for 4 sockets but I'll reserve judgement until I can see inside it. I assume it will be possible to store tools inside so it could certainly replace an existing systainer for people who do that and with the added benefit of a 4 way extension socket. It will be an ideal product for some people I'm sure.

Lots of good new offerings this year, I like many of them. Not sure how people feel about spending money at the moment but I've certainly cut back my spending so it will be interesting to see how these new products fair in this current climate. I'm still pleased to see new products being offered.

Check the current SYS-PH. It is 157.5 mm + feet.

The new one is based on a SYS3 187, meaning 180 mm + feet. I do not see them changing the internals /much/. The space inside is mostly used for storing the cord and yes, some tools can absolutely be caried there. You can have a charger in it as well as there is an internal socket. With the 187 height, you can probably run a charger with a battery in it and close the lid which can be practical on dusty sites. The SYS-PH bottoms are ventilated and there is a temperature fuse, so it should be mostly safe doing so.
