New track saw, now from Grizzly.

Very interesting.. wonder how long before Harbor Freight gets into the mix.

Uh-oh, those pesky Mayans may have been right and just a few days off! [scared]

"designed in Germany" most likely means made in china, this saw is sold under at least 3 different names in Europe atm.
It has been reviewed by quite a few people on a local forum and all were generally pleased, except for some details including rail gliding strips coming loose and problems with customer care.

It's a 32nd short of cutting 1.5 inches in one pass.

Oops.    [eek]

That is crazy. I will have to check that out......

Coincidentally, I just got a Grizzly 9" x 19" Bench Lathe into my shop 3 days ago, been organizing all week trying to fit it into the floor plan.  ;D

The saw looks like one to give a try. I will try and get one picked up for the shop as I have been harping about the track saw Festool makes for a few years!

Thanks for letting us all know!

Have a good one,  :)

Did a bunch of posts get deleted in this thread ?

I deleted mine. Made a comment that this was a copy of the Scheppach saw mentioned in an older post on this site. Then I read the original post again...  [embarassed]

No other posts have been deleted.  No moderation either.

One of the things I really like about Festool products is that they are not made in China. They are one of the few manufacturers that have not fallen to the mentality that everyone wants cheap priced products at the expense of quality, durability and safety.
Thank you Festool for making good quality tools.
You remember that commercial, "you can pay me now or you can pay me later".

What I like about grizzley is that the CEO is also an amateur guitar builder.

Amusing what happens in this space - so it's perfectly ok to copy and profit !

I stopped in at grizzly today to look at the saw. Its not in stock yet. But it will be interesting to see reviews on it.

I just lol when i see an official promotional video of a tool like a circular saw or router being used without dust extraction, because it's "not included" and would confuse customers?
The fact that only festool seems to not do this helped me understand the importance of it.

Today i was annoyed at my Carvex because it doesn't have the blower function to blow the dust away from the cut line when you don't use DC. While every other brand adds this, and then i realised that a tool equipped with a function to blow dust in the air deliberately is in fact criminal and Festool likely said we don't do that no matter what customers think.

As mentioned by Peter in another post: Note in the video that when using the saw as a "regular" circular saw the blade is locked in exposed position and lacks the retractable shield to protect it! You wanna watch who's around when using the saw and also where you put it down!
