NEW TSO TPG-30 Parallel Guide

Hei,

Anyone on the Metric side of the pond (Europe) or even in Finland whom have the drill jig needed to modify the early TCO squares to fit the parallel guides?
- to borrow or sell?

I tried to order them from TCO but the transport price set me back...

[member=44540]simo.ahtola@netikka.fi[/member] - you can download dimensioned drawings showing the location of the tapped holes on the GRS-16:

Where did you purchase your GRS-16? your dealer can get help for you too.

The fixture Hans produced is pretty simple. And while it's the easiest route to perfectly placed holes, downloading and printing the template is a great alternative. Just give some attention to the details.

Hei,

Thanks Hans, with this I can manage!

Bought them directly from TSO in early days of appearance, so glad to get support from The Dealer!

Cheese,

I received my drill jig from TSO last week to drill the extra holes in my older GRS-16 and GRS-16 PE. Per the instructions I used a 5mm drill bit to drill the holes and then attempted to tap the holes with an M5x1 tap. The tap would is too small to thread the holes. You have any idea what I am missing?

Thanks
Jack Lemley

I'm not sure what the instructions say but if the screw is 5mm wide then a 4.20mm or .1654" (5/32) drill bit should be used.  Hans mentioned a M6 tap in another thread and a 5mm drill is the correct size drill for M6 tap.

Jack, here is the link for the instructions.  After drilling the holes with the 5mm drill, use an M6 tap to cut threads in the holes.

Thanks guys! I figured it out last night. The printed instructions that came with the guide use M6x1 tap in the intro but in the step by step instructions it says to use an M5x1. Instruction number 5. So, should have paid more attention to the instruction lead in paragraph ;-)

Interesting, Jack.  Are the instructions that came with the guide different from the instructions available for download?

I think it's an M5 drill and M6 tap?

RMW

Yes, the numbering for the steps is different but the step that tells you to "Tap..." the hole has the tap size at M5x1. The top of the instructions has the M6x1 tap.
