New vs. Old Support Bracket

Hey All, just got a DF 700 XL and it came with a support bracket (new style??), but not the one that has the two additional stops to get close to the edge of a piece (part number 495666).  Is there any advantage to obtaining the old style support bracket?  Do those additional stop prove meaningful?  FYI, I have the Seneca SMK and can utilize the smaller cutters.

Recently I purchased a TSO "Big Foot" support and it is a huge improvement over the OEM one.

Maybe others use them but I never use the stops on the fence - I always mark locations of all my mortises.
