Took another big gulp of green today and purchased the KS120 from Barry at Alloa Hire Centre.
Straight out the box accuracy and fell in love with first cut especially those lasers.
Dust extraction connected to shop Record system was much better than the Dewalt it replaced.
Looking forward to an in-depth browse of manual and online supplemental manual tonight.

Got a nice cabinet job to get its feet wet next week so looking forward to using it.
The cabinet job is also a big one for the domino which you would love.
When I bought it I thought it would only be for furniture stuff but it's actually great where alignment is crucial or a strong non mechanical fixing join is required.
I bought the domiplate for it and it's even more of a game changer for cabinets, boxes and face / edge joints.

Received my Kapex a week or so back and today my lovely wife bought boom arm set for me.  [big grin]

Best miter saw on the market...You could take ever Festool I own but not my Kapex. Saw changed my workflows.

CONGRATS!!

Well Jel

How do Alloa HC prices compare to nuts and bolts and toolfest etc?

Hi Chas

I think they were a little bit dearer but buttons really.
I like the guys at AHC and think its key to form that relationship which has paid dividends on service and advice.
I went into two other "local" dealers but I always find that even although I ask all the right questions my enquires never get taken seriously!!

Ye I know what you mean, I was in a dealer who told me festool was good but I'd be better off with a dewalt router!!

I'll need to pop in there next time I'm over that way and have a gander. I've bought stuff off ebay from them but never been in the shop.

I think issues like this come from tool dealers selling more than one brand of the same product.
Arnold Clark would likely have the same issue with cars if each brand wasn't on different sites.
Perhaps they have better mark up or claw back from some brands over others.
But as a professional having you've done your homework you want support and if necessary subjective discussion but not criticism of your choice.
Maybe it's why we buy some of this stuff online...we know what our business needs and don't want another businesses politics in the decision!

Not sure about dewalt router being better than a festool router

I didn't make his point clear, he basically said festool was good but expensive and the dewalt was not a better machine but a better value machine.

However as I tell my customers low cost and value for money are not the same  [big grin]

Scott. Exactly.
