I just stumbled upon this celebrity woodworker after watching an episode of Conan; didn't see any posts here on FOG so thought I'd put one up...probably a little late to the game and most of you might already be keen on his work (both in acting and woodworking); but in case you are not, watch a few videos.

He is hilarious, and also has great ideas for the shop.

Here are few video links-->  I didn't see any Festools in his shop...he and his shop have appeared on National television quite a few times, someone at Festool should reach out to them about doing a personal demo if they haven't already! :)

There is a very funny Parks and Recreation episode this season where Ron wins an award for a chair he made.  He basically plays himself on TV.  It's a hilarious spoof on Woodworking shows.  Lee Valley was there and Chris Becksvoort has a funny cameo.

I know Nick is a big woodie but that's the first time I saw those videos of his workshop.

My God you guys over the pond are so lucky to have such massive slabs of wood available to you. I think I need to emigrate just to be able to work on more interesting projects  [crying] [crying]

Is slab material hard to find over there?

Hey Ali. Those really aren't that large, we usually pick those up at the local Home Depot or Lowe's unless we want to shop specialty shops for better price.  [big grin]

You should see the Home Depots in Texas!!!!!!  ;D

I actually found a slab of curly cherry in a clinets attic that was used to put boxes on.  Also up there was a chunk of mahogany that was 4in thick by 38in x 28in.  I asked about them and they told me to take them.  That was a good score!
