Any chance Festool can offer a Non-Magnetized centrotec bit holder. Either based on the 498974, with just a retaining ring, or based on the 492648.

If you need to use an insert bit anywhere there might be magnetic shavings or particles such as rust, or ground metal, the magnetized bit holder winds up with all sorts of magnetized detritus stuck to it.

The magnetized bit holder can also make it harder to find a screw head, if you're trying to find a screw head in an awkward position such as inside a piece of machinery or inside a steel track, where you don't have a clear visual of the screw, the magnetized bit holders will cause the bits to "stick" all around to screw making it hard to feel for the screw head, to insert the bit into the head.

When I first purchased the Festool 492648 Centrotec Quick Release Bit Holder I actually thought it was a non-magnetized version and was disappointed when it wasn't.    [sad]
