I picked up the MFK 700 last month, and I figured it up for the first time this weeked. I figured I should probably at least turn it on and make sure it runs. When I did, it wasn't smooth like the OF1400 or 2200. I am not sure how to describe it as it wasn't a consistent vibration but more like how a car at idle will be smooth and every so often kind of vibrate or grumble for a second.

It's almost like the MMC electronics were kicking up the torque for a moment every few seconds if that makes...
It was worse on low speed then high. But still did it high just not as often.

Anyone else experience this? I did not have a bit in the router nor have I tried routing with it yet.

You won't get normal results without a bit in it and actually making a cut. This has been discussed with various tools on the forum before. The electronics are expecting a load.

[member=48572]Shane Holland[/member], that make sense. I suspected it might be something like that. I did the same thing with the OF1400 and OF2200 when I first got them and it didn't do it so that's why I wasn't expecting it.

I did search the forums and couldn't find anything. But I was looking for specifically for the MFK and not any other tool.

I think I specifically remember it being said of the OF 1010 but I could be wrong. It's been a while since I remember reading a post about it.

I'd suggest chucking a bit and making a pass to see if it operates as expected. If not, let me know and I can help you out.
