Even the big furniture companies make mistakes.  My wife wanted this Century table and after 3 months it was just delivered.  I was gone overnight and when I looked at for the first time, I noticed this right away...

Do you see it?  It's warped!  The front right side is down a lot.  I put a couple of winding sticks on the front and back and it was clear as day. Then I looked at the base and it appears the base is the actual warped piece and itl's torqued the table down with it.  The store techs are coming out Thursday to see what happened but I would think they will have to order another base.  I'm kinda shocked it made it through quality control.  Everyone must be cross eyed...

Can it be shimmed? Might be an easy fix. Although I would worry if it was that flimsy.

For $7000 it isn't going to get a shim.... It's going back or they are getting us a new base...

$7,000 dang, could buy a used bass boat for that haha.  My wife has her own cleaning service and one of her well to do off clients had a table made.  They wrapped the outside of the top in steel or something and used walnut for the top.  No room to move and a big knot that wasn't stabilized, the first month it had a couple big cracks and was all messed up.  She asked if I could fix it, I said if I sold someone a $5,000 table, I'd make sure I'd come take care of the problem for free for not being smart in the first place, assume she called the company/person who made it.

If it goes back, take good photos and measurements so you can build your own!

Doesn't look that hard.... ;D ;D  Looks like I will have to call Bob!

The store sent their own guys out to look at it this afternoon.  I pulled out my trusty winding sticks (they had never heard or seen such a thing) and showed them just how warped it was.  They kept trying to say it was simply not level.  No!  Doh!  That isn't the problem.  They tried using the leg levels, etc...  It was still off and I just stood there and kept telling them it wasn't going to make a difference. Finally, they agreed and left.  Now the Century rep is going to come over and eyeball it himself.  I'll have my winding sticks ready for him when he arrives!

I hope this works out for you but furniture companies can have some of the worst customer support you could ever imagine. Be prepared to go all out if you need to get your money back. If this was a credit card purchase you would be wise to put the purchase in dispute now.

That's what I have heard but we did use a credit card and the store we dealt with is local with a sterling reputation.  They have already told us that they will order a new one if necessary.  I would love to go to their factory and see how it's done.  I was told that the finishing process is a closely guarded secret.  I guess it's not putting down a stain and then adding 3 coats of poly!

No, I would guess that there is as much, or more work in the finishing than actually building the table.
It finish does look good. Hopefully they can resolve the problem.
