I used my new OF1010 router today for the first time.
It's a really nice little tool, compact and not too noisy.

However, one thing I'll have to get used to is the way the dust collection hose attaches.
I'm used to the swivel connection on the TS 55.  That connection allows you to angle the hose up and away from the work surface to reduce the drag.

With the OF1010, the hose comes straight off the router in a fixed position.  While using the edge guide,I had to fight to keep the hose from binding up on the end of my work piece.

Is there an accessory available (something cheaper than the boom arm) that alters the hose coupling?

While I don't have the OF1010, I do have a couple of OF1400s.  I have gotten used to holding the hose and the power trigger at the same time.  I do have a shop-made boom, similar to some posted here, that helps in some circumstances.  If using the guiderail, I make sure that I have the deflector in place.

Have you ever considered getting a little 45 or 90 to direct the hose straight up? I may try it this week. I would love to get one that actually was on a swivel or add a swivel connection somehow while directing the hose up.

I also hold the hose while working, turning the hose 180 degrees back over the machine.
What I whould like is a very simple thing that enables you to fixate the hose over the top of the machine.

As you usually work from left to right, this would mean that you push the hose instead of pulling it, avoiding the tube to get stuck on your workpiece or jig.
The same goes for the powercable.

Perhaps the swivel connection from the TS55 could be purchased as a repair part and adapted to fit the 1010?  If not directly to the 1010 then from a short piece of hose on the 1010 to the swivel then the hose connected to the swivel as on the TS55...

Best,
Todd
