OF 1010R

Check out this thread: Link

(brief summary from memory: round dustport, clamping on both rods, improved depthstop, still no quickchange copyrings (this one is not an advantage))

Given the alignment issues some have experienced with the quick change copy rings on the 1400/2200, I would say that having a router with a screw-in base alignment that can be reliably centered is indeed an advantage.

I was getting ready to buy the OF 1010 EQ and then heard about the new release of the OF 1010 REQ maybe by Jan 2022.

Does the current model OF 1010 EQ accept the PC-style template and is that the reason it is easier to center?

Does the other new features really sound like an improvement; new dust extraction similar to OF 1400, and moving the depth gauge turret to the left.

What are the thoughts about the current OF 1010 EQ model vs the future OF 1010 REQ?

I bought a OF1010 a few months ago, just in time to read about the new one coming down the pike.

I would probably wait for the new one, unless I had a strong need to have a machine in-hand now, but my primary reason for that would be for being current instead of getting something known to be obsolete. The new features look to me to be nice to have, but not really show-stoppers if you need the router now. That said, the oval dust port is a bit of a pain. If I could choose for having just one of the new features on mine, that would be it.

As for template mounting, it does come with the PC template adaptor. I've not used mine with any templates yet, so can't really comment on ease of centering.
