OF 1400 EQ (491967) question

Has anyone noticed that when removing a router bit from an OF 1400 EQ the power switch has too be released, otherwise the spindle lock for loosening the bit is disabled? At first I thought there was an intermittent problem but then discovered the power switch appears to be connected to the spindle lock in one direction (or so I assume). I ran into this "feature" because the router was mounted in a CMS and the power switch was in the locked on position (I unplugged the router before attempting to remove the bit  [scared]). Once the power switch was unlocked and in the off position the spindle lock worked. I've checked several instruction manuals and don't find this "feature" mentioned.

I'm asking the FOGers about this in case this condition represents a malfunction that would warrant sending the tool in for repairs.
